The Master of Veterinary Education program is a graduate program for veterinary professionals with a desire to teach in higher education. LMU-CVM is dedicated to preparing professional educators who embody the three ideals of Values, Education, and Service--core ideals of Lincoln Memorial University.
The MVEd is an education degree designed to aid veterinary professionals--who already possess the expertise to be veterinary healthcare providers--in becoming expert educators. Graduates will not only demonstrate knowledge of the various moral, social, and political dimensions facing students of veterinary medicine, but also articulate strategies to aid individual students, the veterinary profession, and wider communities of humans, animals, and environments around the world. Through rigorous studies and active engagement, MVEd students will learn how to translate their clinical experiences into teaching skills and learning strategies, becoming lifelong learners through continued professional development, research, and scholarship. MVEd graduates will ultimately seek to assist in meeting the education needs of the veterinary profession and serve veterinary students who come from a variety of backgrounds with different experiences, knowledge, and skills.
